Note: Low-paid employment occurs when the monthly wage 538 EUR (as of 2024/2025) does not exceed. If the sum of all mini-jobs exceeds this limit, insurance is mandatory.

5. Exemption from pension insurance (only for mini-jobs)

Mini-jobbers can be exempt from compulsory pension insurance. Otherwise, they pay a personal contribution of 3.6% (employer pays 15%). For example, with an income of EUR 538, your own contribution would be approximately EUR 19.37.

I want to be freed. The employer pays the flat rate levy. I do not contribute any personal contribution and do not acquire any compulsory contribution periods. I would like to pay the additional contribution. The employer deducts my share from my salary and I earn full contribution periods.
